Second Round Playoff Results for Games Played August 25, 2010: Harford, Glen Elg, Old Liners, Parkville, Dundalk and Greenbelt Reach the Playoff Finals in Their Respective Divisions

Harford County eliminated Carroll Blue 17-16 in what must have been another exciting game that the score reporters failed to mention in their reports. Thus, Harford will face Glen Elg, which outlasted Howard County 9-5, to determine the 'A' Division Champion on Monday in the finals on Monday August 30.

Parkville edged Catonsville 9-8 in another unmentioned nail biter and will face the Old Liners, which survived a tough Bel Air team 17-12, to determine the 'B' Division Champion in Monday's finals.

And Greenbelt eliminated Bowie Bronze 20-8 and will face spunky Dundalk, which romped over the Howard Hitters 12-3, in the final round of the playoffs on Monday to determine the 'C' Division Champion.

Good Luck to all in the final playoff round.

First Round Playoff Results for Games Played August 23, 2010

Bowie Bronze found their long lost offense and eliminated their division counterparts Bowie Gold 22-3 to advanced to the second round playoffs against 'C' Division winner Greenbelt on Wednesday.

Bel Air eliminated the Howard Hawks in a very close game 8-7 and will face the Old Liners in the second round of the playoffs on Wednesday. The game came down to the last inning and here's what the Hawks' score reporter commented on in submitting the score:

"Game was as close as the score indicates. The Hawks came back from a controversial play at the plate to go into the 9th all tied at 7-7. After a scoreless top of the 9th, Bel Air had a walk-off hit in the bottom of the inning to cement the victory."

Carroll Blue eliminated Glen Burnie in a closely fought encounter 13-11. Blue will now face 'A' Division winner Harford County on Wednesday in the second playoff round.

Glen Elg eliminated fast fading Bowie Silver 17-3 and moved to the second round playoffs against second place Howard County on Wednesday.

Catonsville outscored and eliminated Carroll Gray 18-14 an will face 'B' Division winner Parkville in the second round of the playoffs on Wednesday.

Side Notes on First Round Results

An interesting and probably unnecessary observatory in these first round playoffs is that all of the winners were home teams and played on their own familiar fields.

By the way, thanks to all of the score reporters for your prompt reporting of the results of today's games. Keep it up for the rest of the playoffs.
